As part of ACCIONA Energía's worldwide goal of planting one million trees, we held a series of native tree giveaways for the ACCIONA Energía MacIntyre Tree Donation program. We’ve now donated over 3,400 trees to date in support of sustainable projects in our local community.
As part of ACCIONA Energía's worldwide goal of planting one million trees, we held a series of native tree giveaways for the ACCIONA Energía MacIntyre Tree Donation program. We’ve now donated over 3,400 trees to date in support of sustainable projects in our local community.
The first tree donation event was held at Condamine Headwaters Land Care Group Inc’s nursery in Warwick on 1 February, 2024. This marked the beginning of a series of handovers aimed at helping local organisations and community members to enhance green spaces, support biodiversity and create wildlife habitats.
On 29 February 2024, we held our second donation event in Toowoomba, providing tree seedlings to another 22 property owners and environmental groups.
The third event took place in Stanthorpe on 27 March 2024. Scott Black, Senior Environmental Advisor -MacIntyre Wind Farm, joined the event to provide expert advice to our community members during the handover. Tree recipients included Darling Downs Moreton Rabbit Board, Killarney Bushcare, Anglican Parish of Warwick, St Joseph's School Millmerran, Toowoomba Wilderness Society, Little Country Kids Club Inc., and numerous other community members.
As advocates for renewable energy and environmental health, we are delighted to support initiatives like these, which not only contribute to environmental conservation but also bring diverse groups together, working towards a greener future for all.
