In the sixth and seventh concerts of a world tour covering five continents, “Las Minas Puerto Flamenco” debuts at the Melbourne Recital Centre on October 5 and at the Concourse Concert Hall in Sydney on October 7.
With a history spanning more than 55 years, the International Flamenco Festival of Cante de las Minas is one of the most important events in the world of Flamenco. Its reputation for excellence is the result of rigorous high standards of artistic quality. In 2014 it was awarded with the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts and it is the only Flamenco Festival officially rated as Marca España (Brand Spain).
Las Minas Puerto Flamenco is a musical show with eleven artists on stage, each one performing their own specialty. The result is a unique show that is non-stop and highly emotive. Incorporating song, instrumental guitars, dance, flamenco flute, flamenco saxophone and percussion, the result is something that will stay with you long after you leave the show. All costumes worn in the show are designed by Francis Montesinos.
ACCIONA contributes to the diffusion of an art recognised as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in different capitals of the world. The Las Minas Flamenco Tour started in 2012 as an initiative to promote Flamenco around the world. Since then, the group has visited countries including Japan, India, Belgium and Luxembourg.
ACCIONA is a proud supporter of the 2017 International Flamenco Tour. Originating in the City of México the tour has travelled across five continents, performing at world class theaters in Johannesburg, Chicago, Toronto, Melbourne, Sydney, Quito, Santiago de Chile and Dubai.
