ACCIONA is proud to celebrate the next generation of regional leaders by supporting young women from across NSW to participate in the ACCIONA Sydney Royal AgShows NSW Young Woman Program.

Following an intense judging process, RAS President John Bennett OAM, awarded Louisa Gilmour from Warialda first place in the program, with Madison Luke from Hawkesbury being named runner-up at the recent Sydney Royal Easter Show.

The program recognises outstanding advocacy, leadership, and community contribution from across New South Wales, with ACCIONA’s support highlighting the importance of investing in young leaders who strengthen the long-term social sustainability of regional communities through education, innovation and public engagement.

Louisa was recognised for her strong communication skills, leadership and commitment to authentic regional storytelling. A creative professional working as a post-production assistant at Spectrum Films, she has co-founded the Gwydir Youth Committee to support rural mental health and actively contributes to agricultural shows through photography, judging and event support, while mentoring young creatives across regional communities.

Madison was also acknowledged for her professionalism, confidence and community engagement. A PhD candidate researching remote monitoring technologies for feedlot cattle, she has presented her research nationally and internationally, represented Australia in meat judging and remains actively involved in agricultural shows and youth development programs, contributing practical research outcomes to the agricultural industry.

Craig McGrory, Chief Transformation Officer, reflected on the significance of the event.

"The ACCIONA Sydney Royal AgShows NSW Young Woman Program showcases the dedication, capability and vision of young women who are deeply connected to their communities." Craig said.

"Supporting this program aligns with our commitment to authenticity, sustainability, and community partnership, which is why it is such a privilege for ACCIONA to now be part of this journey, supporting the RAS to grow the reach, impact and visibility of this program,” he said.

Fourteen Finalists from across New South Wales were selected for the final stage of the program, a process which started at their local shows and the progressed through zone events before they headed to Sydney for a six-day development program. The program included interviews, presentations and official duties, allowing finalists to demonstrate leadership, confidence and advocacy for their local communities.

In the lead up to Sunday’s announcement, the Finalists also spent time with senior ACCIONA leaders, Kari White, Justine Voigt, Emma Hassett and Kristina de Ambrosis, gaining an understanding of ACCIONA – who we are, how we operate and insights into some of the projects the company is delivering in regional NSW.

It was an important opportunity to explore how we engage with regional communities and to hear directly from the young women some of the challenges they themselves are facing.

ACCIONA’s continued involvement with community and regional programs reflects a broader commitment to delivering infrastructure and social solutions that contribute to positive outcomes for communities.
