The Opportunity
Are you a natural leader with a passion for Accounts Payable, for supporting others, driving operational efficiency, and cultivating a strong team culture?
We’re looking for an Accounts Payable Team Leader (a Second-in-Command 2IC) to work with the Corporate Accounts Payable Manager, providing hands-on leadership while inspiring and motivating the broader team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, offering meaningful support, and fostering a high performing, engaged team.
In this role, you’ll provide daily guidance and coaching, maintain team focus on key deliverables, and help build a culture where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to excel.
Key responsibilities:
Supervise and provide guidance to a team of accounts payable officers and seniors, fostering their professional growth and ensuring their success.
Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice approvals, payments, reconciliations, and vendor management.
Efficiently assign tasks, set measurable goals, and conduct regular evaluations to drive productivity and accountability.
Drive process improvement initiatives and ensure best practices are implemented and followed.
Proactively identify and resolve issues or bottlenecks in the AP cycle, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Other duties as assigned by the accounts payable manager to support broader corporate finance operations.
Required Skills and Competencies
Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in accounts payable, preferably in a high-volume or shared services environment.
Strong leadership skills with experience supervising or mentoring staff.
Ppassion for creating a positive team culture rooted in collaboration, integrity, and continuous learning.
Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and standardisation.
Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
Experience with Cheops, concur expense, SAPB1 or similar ERP systems is desirable
