Last week in our Sydney office, Broe Reti, one half of The Scraper Bros. on Western Sydney Airport by day and Indigenous artist by night, unveiled his artwork entitled The Yarning Circle alongside Trista Taylor, our Aboriginal & Social Participation Manager.
Broe created the artwork to show his support and appreciation to Trista and ACCIONA for the recent initiatives for our First Nations people. The handcrafted artwork took Broe six weeks to produce, developed from his vision and with his own hands.
The artwork illustrates the ACCIONA Yarning Circle, “where each corner has a meeting place, where each mob meets to yarn”.
“All the meeting places are connected by tracks, leading to the ACCIONA Yarning Circle at the centre. This is where the ACCIONA mob gathers around the circle together, having a good old yarn,” said Broe.
“The patterns represent all our yarns, uniting us all.”
CEO Bede Noonan was on hand for the unveiling and was captivated by the artwork. He said it was an honour to have a special, meaningful and detailed work of art presented to us. “Broe’s time, dedication and passion for our business and what it means to him and us is significant,” said Bede. “He honours ACCIONA by referring to us as his mob. We thank him and acknowledge the work and time he has put into his art.”
The artwork will be proudly displayed in our Sydney office in the coming weeks.
