  • ACCIONA hosted an exclusive preview of the 2023 Melbourne Winter Masterpieces: Pierre Bonnard: Design by India Mahdavi.

On June 5th, ACCIONA hosted a special networking event at The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), with over 150 guests enjoying an exclusive preview of the 2023 Melbourne Winter Masterpieces: Pierre Bonnard: Design by India Mahdavi. Our invitees were encouraged to bring along an emerging leader of their choice for an evening of networking and engaging discussions.

As the NGV’s Sustainability Partner, we enjoyed an exclusive preview of the exhibition before its public opening later that week.

For Pierre Bonnard: Designed by India Mahdavi, the NGV invited Mahdavi to develop the exhibition’s unique and immersive scenography. Encountering Bonnard’s work anew, Mahdavi has created, in her own words, ‘an impression of his world, through my own eyes’.

In Melbourne to celebrate the opening of the exhibition, Mahdavi spoke with NGV curator Dr Miranda Wallace in an intimate conversation. Mahdavi reflected on seminal projects she has worked on, offering unique insights into her design approach and her experience crafting the Pierre Bonnard exhibition.

Mahdavi skilfully intertwines both art history and contemporary culture to create an unparalleled exhibition experience using Bonnard’s works. Wall and floor applications, as well as furniture, provide a three-dimensional experience that complements the lavish, domestic interior worlds typical of Bonnard’s paintings, as can be seen in the photos below.

Attendees also heard opening remarks from ACCIONA Energía Australia Managing Director Brett Wickham and closing statements from Bede Noonan, CEO of ACCIONA Australia & NZ, before exploring the exhibition.

The venue served as a fantastic setting for networking and introduced ACCIONA to a broad spectrum of individuals outside the infrastructure and renewable energy sectors.
