Northern Gold Coast residents and visitors now have improved public transport access, including new park ‘n’ ride, active transport, and bus services connections at the newly opened 'Hope Island Station', easing pressure on the nearby Helensvale station, in Queensland, Australia.

The ACCIONA Georgiou Joint Venture (AGJV) team collaboratively delivered this project with Cross River Rail Delivery Authority.

During design and construction, our team delivered many project achievements including:

  • Constructing Queensland’s first station built entirely retrofitted to an elevated twin-track viaduct
  • Providing jobs for locals with over 495,800 project hours worked
  • Installing 24 reinforced concrete girders, weighing 52 tonnes each, to construct two 160-metre-long station platforms
  • Installing over 450 tonnes of structural steel to support station elements
  • Distributing over 32,000 project works notifications to keep the community informed during design and construction.

We’re extremely proud to have played a key role in shaping the future of public transportation on the Gold Coast through this legacy project!
