ACCIONA is delighted to share that the Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) Place, Design and Landscape Plan (Part 2) for the future Berrys Bay foreshore parkland has received approval. This is an important step forward in the NSW Government's Western Harbour Tunnel project and in ACCIONA's commitment to leaving places better than we found them.
Infrastructure That Creates Lasting Value
Great infrastructure does more than connect destinations — it creates lasting value for people, communities and the natural environment. ACCIONA's work with Transport for NSW at Berrys Bay is a powerful example of that vision in action: transforming a former industrial site into a vibrant, accessible and ecologically resilient public space for generations to enjoy.
A Collaborative Achievement 18 Months in the Making
What makes this milestone especially significant is the spirit of collaboration that shaped it. Deepest thanks go to the teams at Transport for NSW and DesignInc Sydney for their dedication and expertise across 18 months of thoughtful work. The team balanced complex engineering challenges with Aboriginal culture, heritage interpretation, ecological sensitivity and long-term community legacy.
What the Future Parkland Will Deliver
The future parkland will reconnect people with Sydney's iconic harbour, restore views across saltwater, honour the rich and layered history of the site, and create welcoming spaces for play, gathering and connection with nature. These outcomes reflect the values ACCIONA brings to every project.
ACCIONA is proud to be part of this journey, and grateful to everyone contributing their expertise and commitment to delivering the best possible outcome for the community.
