ACCIONA marked a strong display of teamwork and community connection during the 2026 Melbourne Teams Corporate Triathlon in St Kilda on Sunday 15 March, bringing together 75 participants from its Infrastructure and Energy businesses to highlight the value of collaboration, wellbeing and shared achievement.

Employees gathered at St Kilda Beach in the early morning to compete across triathlon and relay events, strengthening bonds across teams while promoting a healthy and active workplace culture.

Craig McGrory, Chief Transformation Officer, acknowledged the significance of the event for ACCIONA.

"It was fantastic to be competing as part of the ACCIONA team with so many colleagues showing support and friendship – whether supporting some of us slower competitors or enjoying the success of our faster colleagues," Criag said.

"Participating as ACCIONA was the key ingredient. Whether as a competitor or supporter, the triathlon brought our people together from across the business in a way that reflects our commitment to collaboration.” he said.

This year marked ACCIONA’s second appearance at the Melbourne Teams Corporate Triathlon, reinforcing a growing commitment to team-based fitness and community events.

Participants arrived at 7am as the sun rose over St Kilda Beach, with ACCIONA’s red bucket hats, caps and shirts creating a vibrant presence along the course. Staff from both Infrastructure and Energy took part, demonstrating cross-business engagement and shared purpose.

A total of 42 employees completed the full triathlon course as solo competitors, comprising a 300-metre open water swim, a 10-kilometre bike ride along the closed Beach Road circuit, and a four-kilometre run on the foreshore.

A further 15 employees formed split teams, including members of the executive team who shared the swim, cycle and run components. Eighteen employees joined the inaugural Corporate Relay Run, contributing to a team distance of just under 15 kilometres.

One of the standout achievements was the performance of ACCIONA team SUB-ONE in the Corporate Relay Run.

Team members Guillem Clemente, John Harley and Nick Johnson completed the course in 56 minutes, securing the fastest overall team time on the day and adding to the sense of celebration among colleagues.

Throughout the morning, the ACCIONA marquee at Catani Gardens became a gathering point for participants, colleagues, families and supporters. The tent provided a space for encouragement, rest and connection, with the atmosphere matching the momentum seen along the course.

ACCIONA plans to continue fostering opportunities that bring people together through shared physical challenges and community events.

The success of the 2026 triathlon highlights the organisation’s focus on building strong internal networks that support wellbeing, teamwork and a positive workplace culture.
