ACCIONA has officially welcomed its 100th employee to its Engineering and Design team in Australia, marking a significant milestone in the business’ rapid growth since its establishment in December 2018.

Charles Ho, a Civil Design Engineer, joins ACCIONA's Engineering and Design team as its 100th member, highlighting the expansion of the in-house design entity that began with just two employees nearly seven years ago.

Pablo Guardiola Molla, General Manager, ACCIONA Engineering and Design, reflected on the team’s journey.

“Reaching 100 employees is a proud moment for the team, and a testament to the strength of our integrated design and construction model,” Mr Guardiola Molla said.

“Our growth has been driven by a commitment to innovation, collaboration and the diverse perspectives our team brings to every project.”

Engineering and design capacity now represents 22 nationalities, creating a dynamic and inclusive workplace that draws on a broad spectrum of international experience. Women make up 31 per cent of the team's workforce, exceeding the company-wide average of 27 per cent.

A key differentiator for ACCIONA's engineering and design capability is its close collaboration with construction teams from the earliest stages of a project.

Designers are embedded within project teams from the tender phase through to delivery, enabling more efficient designs revisions and procurement processes.

This integrated approach has positioned ACCIONA as a leader in delivering complex infrastructure solutions across Australia.

The team is currently contributing to major projects including the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Plant in Port Lincoln, South Australia; the Alkimos Desalination Plant in Perth, Western Australia; and the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone.

With over 70 years of combined local and international experience, ACCIONA provides comprehensive design services across civil, industrial, and environmental engineering.

The team leverages advanced technologies such as Building Information Modelling and Geographic Information Systems to enhance project planning and execution, with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation.

As ACCIONA's engineering and design capability continues to grow, its commitment to excellence, diversity and integrated project delivery remains central to its success.

The milestone of 100 employees signals a new chapter in the team’s contribution to shaping sustainable infrastructure across Australia, and positions ACCIONA well for delivering an end-to-end solution for clients.
