ACCIONA has successfully delivered the Eurimbla Way grade-separated link road at Osborne, north of Adelaide in South Australia.

This critical infrastructure project significantly improves access to the existing Osborne Naval Shipyard and supports the future Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard, reinforcing Australia's defence and shipbuilding capabilities.

Fraser Ramsay, Executive Regional Manager, South-West, emphasised the collaborative nature of the project.

"This successful project allowed us to work closely with Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) to deliver this high-quality infrastructure solution - one that was executed safely, efficiently and to a high standard," Mr Ramsay said.

"The partnership and shared purpose demonstrated throughout the delivery have been key to achieving positive outcomes for all involved."

The Eurimbla Way project involved the construction of a new grade-separated road providing a direct route linking Pelican Point Road to the naval precinct's current and future shipyards eliminating previous access constraints and enabling safer, more efficient traffic.

Throughout the project, ACCIONA maintained a strong focus on safety, security, quality, and efficiency, collaborating closely with local suppliers, subcontractors and local industry to step up and meet the project’s quality and construction schedule demands. The new infrastructure supports the next phase of Australia's Defence industry by facilitating the expansion of the submarine construction yard and enhancing operational readiness.

The project was officially marked with a naming ceremony on Kaurna Country, featuring a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony led by Kaurna Elder Uncle Mickey, highlighting the cultural significance of the site and the road’s namesake, the SS Eurimbla, an early Navy ship built at Osborne after World War I.

ACCIONA’s delivery of the Eurimbla Way link road exemplifies ACCIONA’s commitment to contributing expertise to Australia’s Defence infrastructure while fostering strong community and industry partnerships.

Looking ahead, the completion of Eurimbla Way sets a foundation for continued growth and capability enhancement within the Osborne Naval Shipyard precinct, supporting Australia’s strategic defence objectives.
