The Almoradí wastewater treatment plant, built by ACCIONA following the award of a contract by Entidad de Saneamiento de Aguas (EPSAR), has a capacity of 6,000 m³/day. Certified under ISO 14001 for environmental management, the facility serves 41,400 inhabitants, promoting sustainability and the reuse of water in agriculture.
The project covers an area of 55,000 m², with an additional reserve for future extension to double its capacity to 12,000 m³/day, anticipating urban and industrial growth in the area. Through these measures, the plant reinforces its strategic role in the reuse of water resources and environmental protection, positioning itself as a benchmark in sustainability and efficient water management.
The Almoradí WWTP has been designed as an integral solution to improve sanitation in the Vega Baja del Segura area, with an investment of 19 million euros and the integration of sustainable technologies such as a photovoltaic plant to optimise energy efficiency and an advanced odour control system. The renovation and centralisation of the network of collectors and pumping stations ensures the resilience of the infrastructure to the frequent flooding of the Segura River.
