ACCIONA has been awarded the contract to build the Western Renewables Link. The project, which is key to Victoria’s renewable energy future, will span approximately 190 kilometers. The Western Renewables Link will provide a new 500 kV double-circuit transmission line from Bulgana, in western Victoria, to the Sydenham terminal station in northwest Melbourne. The line will carry more than 3,000 MW of new generation and supply up to one million homes in the region.
The contract is subject to the fulfillment of conditions precedent and the start of construction activities, as well as the receipt of all necessary state and federal approvals.
