ACCIONA, together with contract partners Clough and WSP, are extending Stephenson Avenue, one of the main arteries in the City of Stirling.

The project is located around 10 km north of Perth’s central business district (the capital of Western Australia) along the Mitchell Freeway.

KEY FACTS

The Stephenson Avenue Extension will provide a new connection from the freeway to other major arteries, the industrial area of Osborne Park and the Westfield Innaloo Shopping Centre, as well as create around 800 jobs.

The project is part of a wider transformation of the Stirling City Centre, providing a new strategic link and opening up large tracts of currently vacant land suitable for development.

Upgrades include:

  • Stephenson Avenue grade separated interchange at Mitchell Freeway - Stephenson Avenue bridge over Mitchell Freeway and the Joondalup Line.
  • New road connecting Sarich Court to Cedric Street on the west side of the freeway, including a new bridge for Stephenson Avenue.
  • New shared path on the east side of Mitchell Freeway from Telford Crescent to Civic Place, including an underpass under Stephenson Avenue.
  • New shared paths along Stephenson Avenue and connections to the new path along the freeway.
  • Modifications to Mitchell Freeway and Cedric Street interchange, removing the southbound off and on-ramps and northbound off-ramp.
  • New access to Stirling Station car park.
  • Upgrade Stirling Bus Interchange from an 18-stand to 29-stand facility.
