    Origin Halladale Black Watch Speculant Development Project

    John Beever Australia (an ACCIONA Company) was engaged by ThyssenKrupp on behalf of Origin Energy for the Halladale Black WatchSpeculant Development, this project included the site upgrade to the Otway Gas Plant and The HBSWS Wellsite upgrade. JBA as the principal contractor on this project provided project and site management for the SMP, electrical & Installation and civil works.

    The project consists of two separate areas, the Otway Gas Plant (OGP) and the HBWS Wellsite (WS). These sites are connected by a DN200 Produced Fluids pipeline, a DN50 MEG pipeline and fibre optic cable, with both sites operating together.

    John Beever Australia’s (an ACCIONA Company) approach to this project was to self-perform using our direct labour force and leverage off our long lasting relationships with specialist heavy lifts contractors to execute these project works.

    John Beever’s SMP construction methodology can be summarized as follows:

    • Pre-works: kick off meeting with the client, project documentation development, logistics, and QA inspection.
    • Mobilisation: Site, plant and operators familiarisation. Transport of installation equipment.
    • OGP: Fabrication and installation of pipework, erection of structural steel installation of interconnecting piping and installation of hydrotest blanks, bladders and vents.
    • Wellsite: JBA successfully transported all installation equipment, before conducting the fabrication and installation of pipework, erection of structural steel, installation of interconnecting piping and installation of hydrotest blanks, bladders and vents. On top of this JBA also saw to the Provision of an experienced hydraulic technician to facilitate tubing installation

    Key Benefits: Through 3D Autoplant Piping Model used to fabricate 96% of pipework offsite this reduced over 100 number of field fit welds.

    With 28,415 man hours JBA successfully concluded the works at Winchelsea with zero injuries as well as zero non-compliance and zero improvement reports from ESV
