ACCIONA provides cultural experience to local students

18/06/2013

ACCIONA donates a collection of books as part of the sponsorship of the Prado exhibition in Brisbane. The books were donated to the Isaac regional Council Library as well as Glenden State School and Collinsville State High School.

A number of publications and books were developed as part of ACCIONA’s sponsorship of the Prado exhibition. A series of these books have been donated to the Isaac regional Council Library as well as Glenden State School and Collinsville State High School.

The donation includes a Flamenco DVD and two books titled The Protecting Forest and The Earth: User’s Guide. The theme is sustainability - one of the core values of ACCIONA.

ACCIONA sees this as an opportunity to educate students about what the company does, the projects we’re currently involved in and how students can look at careers in this industry.

An ACCIONA representative spoke with the high school students about the work ACCIONA is involved in and about the career opportunities available in a company like ACCIONA.

This is a hot topic right now, with year 11 and 12 students beginning to think about their future and further studies.

ACCIONA is currently working in joint venture with BMD in the Fitzroy and Mackay West regions on flood repair works.

Donating these books to the local communities in which we’re currently undertaking road works is our way of ‘giving back’ and thanking the locals for their patience and understanding.
