ACCIONA has joined the CSR Innolabs project, a business network that sets out to drive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) across Latin America, under the auspices of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
The CSR Innolabs,-or CSR innovation labs-is the result of an alliance between a number of LatAm businesses. As well as ACCIONA, it includes CEMEX, Citi, Gas Natural Fenosa, Microsoft, PepsiCo and SABMiller, with the technical assistance of Forética and the support of the BID.
ACCIONA joined the project on the occasion of the first CSR Innolabs workshop held at the same time as the BID's BASE Forum on inclusive business at the base of the pyramid. This workshop looked closely at a number of metrics tools designed to gauge social impact in Latin America and the Caribbean, and attempted to define their viability, impact and applicability in business operations. The workshop gave rise to the publication of a knowledge e-notebook that joins three similar publications compiled by participating companies in 2012. In addition, in the second half of 2013, the Forum will address issues related to human rights and business.
CSR Innolabs attempts to move beyond conventional CSR promotion and dissemination models. Accordingly, it sets its sights on creating innovative knowledge-generation systems, coming up with concrete solutions to sustainable and responsible management challenges in the region and opening a space for collaboration and opportunities for improving efficiency, competitiveness and CSR integration in all operational aspects of business.
