Isabella Nichols competes at the top level of world surfing — and she thinks like an engineer. That combination is why she has represented ACCIONA in Australia since 2020, and why the relationship keeps going well beyond the water.
She surfs the same coastline our teams live on. She's studied the same discipline our engineers practise. And when we ask her to visit a transmission tower the height of a 22-storey building to see how a project actually gets built, she says yes.
“My partnership with ACCIONA has been one of the most rewarding and authentic relationships I’ve had with a company. They align with my values and have given me so many opportunities to grow in a field outside of surfing. Surfing will really benefit by being aligned with a such a forward-thinking company, with so many environmental benefits coming from the partnership. The team at ACCIONA are great humans who are forward-thinking and super inclusive.”

Isabella grew up on the Queensland coast and has spent her career around water. That gives her a direct stake in the two things ACCIONA works on hardest: clean energy and clean water.
She has also studied engineering alongside a full competitive schedule — which makes her a credible voice for the young women we want to see entering our industry, not just a familiar face.
